SELF-CONSUMPTION WITH A GRID-CONNECTED PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM.

A grid-connected self-consumption installation is one that shares infrastructure and some kind of electrical connection with the distribution grid.

The aim of self-consumption is not to completely isolate yourself from the grid, but to save as much as possible on your electricity bill and to be able to generate electricity for your home. Cost-effective, clean and sustainable energy.

In the self-consumption mode, during the day we consume the energy generated by the photovoltaic system and at night we use energy from the electricity grid. It is advisable to combine the installation of solar panels with an hourly rate to pay as little as possible for the energy consumed from the grid.

The advantage lies in the savings we make during the day, where we manage to reduce our electricity bill considerably.

Being connected to the grid means we can be sure that we will never run out of electricity, without having to invest in batteries.

These are photovoltaic installations where an anti-spill device prevents any type of energy injection into the grid.

This is the most interesting option for the consumer. In this mode, the supplier compensates us for our surplus discharged into the grid.

Surplus is the surplus energy that we do NOT consume at the time it is produced.

With the compensation, we will obtain a benefit for the surpluses discharged into the network in the form of "discount" o  "no payment". on the electricity bill. Applies to energy consumption.

The value of the surpluses is freely defined by the supplier. The surpluses, measured on an hourly basis, will be compensated within the current month, without being saved for the following month, and no money can be earned with them, so that the compensated energy will leave the energy part of the bill at €0, at the most.

As the installation will remain connected to the grid, if at any given time it does not produce enough energy to meet the point demand, it will be able to obtain energy from the grid.
